New hiring update:

Starting in APR all new hires will be going to the 737/756. 320 hiring will stop.

Classes will run to JUN. There will be only 2 JUN classes.

No classes in JUL or AUG.

Through FEB, 44 recalls and Leave of absence pilot have returned.

800 total new hires this year.

It would appear we are reaching a point of staffing where we can throttle back and hire for attrition. New airplanes start coming in the summer of 2017. No news on whether or not they will be for growth. Also, the furloughed pilots can hold wide body in every base and top 20-30% in most narrow body FO seats. With this bid some of the more senior ones can hold CA. That mixed with the new pay rates and the contract giving them full longevity for pay and vacation, I think we will see more furloughed pilots and LOA pilots return than planned.

March 1 class was all 737.

They also said last year that there would be no hiring in the summer. We ended up having classes all summer long, but at a slower rate.
