FIT Alum and instructor here.
Standz is an online study course which is to prepare you for everything you need to know technical wise. Should not take more than about 10 hours overall, then after completion of the online course you have a one week class at the flight line. 3 days of indoc and 2 days of written, sim and flight tests covering a instrument sim evaluation, and 2 flights (2nd flight if you have a cfii). Free lunch all week and its paid.
Don't worry about little work. If you don't do about 65-70 hours every two weeks your trying your best not be there. This is not flight time necessarily. This is between flight sim and ground. Last 2 weeks I did 93 hours with a good bit of effort.
Great place to work and by far the most professional flight school I've ever seen (maybe I'm biased
)
