A normal ILS has a threshold crossing height in the neighborhood of 50 feet while on the glideslope. The expressway has to be another 500 feet from the threshold. I don't believe I have ever pulled the power to idle when crossing the threshold at 50 feet, much less 500 more feet out from the threshold. How often have you had the power at idle when hearing the 50 callout in a 737, much less at an even higher altitude than 50 feet? Can you understand why I have a problem with you speculating that the power was pulled to IDLE while still over the expressway? It is nothing but speculation and you have absolutely no basis in fact for that statement. You have already chalked this up to pilot error and we haven't even seen a preliminary report from the NTSB.
