I'm looking at relocating to a more urban environment and I'm pretty concerned about the potential for break-ins and theft during the whopping two-straight weeks that I'm on the road every month.

I thought I'd put this thread out there to see if it might be worth it for pilots to share their thoughts and experiences in dealing with or preventing break-ins while away at work.

I know a lot of things are common sense, but I'm sure there's some pretty useful and uncommon insight among our ranks as well.

I'm looking at moving into the historic outskirts just outside of a downtown environment, and need to figure out as much as I can about how to secure a duplex/small house and a sedan.
