Last week we reported that the CAL and UAL MECs received word from the arbitrators that they are on track to complete the integrated seniority list (ISL), with the possibility of the award being released around the end of this week, at the earliest. Nothing has changed the arbitration panel’s timeline, with the caveat that there can be no guarantees that the ISL will be complete by month’s end.
We have been advised that a request for a temporary restraining order against the release of the ISL has been filed in U.S. District Court. A court hearing has been scheduled in Washington tomorrow to consider the request. At this point, we have no further information on the intentions of the court or whether there will be any potential for impact on the ISL award timing.
ALPA is addressing this issue and the CAL MEC continues with plans to be in session the latter part of this week, in the event that the arbitrators are completed with their task and issue the ISL. We will continue to keep you informed.
