MEC meetings to discuss the ISL?

Jet Link,
At this point in time, the above statement is not true.
ALPA offered WRITTEN assurances to many L-UAL pilots considering Guppy jobs at L-CAL that state the opposite.
It is true that recent responses from ALPA for updated information have been muddier than pond water.
If you have updated and legally binding guidance on this issue please share it.

just jumping into the fray at your post. There are a lot of positions being stated. The following is from the latest lUAL bastmail relating to "uHires."
Question: After the ISL is released, I’m hearing that those L-UAL furloughees hired by L-CAL (u-Hires) won’t be able to bid for line preferencing or vacancies until they rebid into their current position or into an open position. Any truth to that?
Fact: (from JIT and JNC): Not true. Once the list comes out we will update numbers and pay longevity within a couple days. Barring any unforeseen delays and depending on the actual release of the ISL, uHires should be able to bid the next possible bid month’s PBS schedules with their new seniority numbers. Pay longevity may take a little longer since it requires manual data entry but will pay retroactively to ISL release date. Also, unless the ISL award specifies otherwise, uHires should be able to use their new numbers for vacancy bidding soon after the award is accepted by the Company.

from ALPA blast mail in the past year, and from what I understood, all L-UAL furloughed pilots agreeing to CAL guppy flying, will be on active seniority list prior to SLI in their respected seniority (junior to all active pilots form CAL) after SLI all those pilots will be on active pilot seniority list, therefore they are recall in place according to TA 5-B b.,c.,iii.. That is my understanding of TA and UPA, I.
the only reference in UPA and TA I could find was:
UPA December 2012:
LOA 25 Merger Transition Issues
2. s/United Pilots Offered s/Continental Jobs:
s/United pilots who were offered employment at s/Continental in accordance with paragraph 7.B of the Transition and Process Agreement dated September 26, 2010 will not be considered to be on Involuntary Furlough for purposes of Section 5-B-1-a-(1) of the Agreement.

Thanks for looking, but that won't work.
The bolded text in your post ended just a little early so I continued it a little. Re-read the next few words; for purposes of Section 5-B-1-a-(1)
5-B = Limitations on Hours of Service
Yep, that means the company was allowed to continue to allow higher line values to pad those paychecks and delay L-UAL recalls after JCBA signing while L-UAL pilots were on furlough. Nothing more, and nothing less
While the truth is many L-UAL at L-CAL may want to just assume a new number, there are numerous written assurances from ALPA that full recall rights will not be lost by taking any temporary job offers at Skywest or CAL.
Honestly, if you find something that will hold water in court, please post it.

That's directly from ALPA. The LUAL pilots at CAL are "recalled in place" immediately upon SLI and will exercise their seniority immediately in the seat they are in. There won't be a "CAL" of any kind once SLI is done. We will all be United pilots on ONE LIST. So if a LUAL pilot moves ahead of a former LCAL pilot through the SLI then IMMEDIATELY his position in that BES will change.
Slow down, and re-read the post from Jet Link.
The reference Jet Link posted was NOT directly from ALPA, it was directly from LOA 25 of the JCBA, and dealt specifically with Section 5 (whoring during furlough) of L-CAL and L-UAL line values.
I am not disagreeing that L-UAL pilots at L-CAL SHOULD have the right to be recalled in place, it is the fact that options are missing for those (like V/F pilots due return rights) who might PREFER not to forfeit the options they are owed.

Both the MEC update as well as an upcoming Furlough Update (probably this weekend) is going to cover this in detail.
603 pilots will be immediately and involuntarily "recalled" overnight and whatever they agreed to give them should happen.
But they won't have the option to "defer" because they are already back as United Pilots.

Thanks for your pointers and comments, much appreciated.
No worries, I'll be the last to drag anything to court, if anything I would allow our elected ALPA representatives to work things out, that's whatvI pay them for. I was just pointing out few thinks in UPA and TA for people to look at as a reference.
I guess we'll find out soon enough, how they'll handle recalls of furloughed pilots at CAL.

Regards,
Wish I had more confidence in our leadership team, but watching the L-UAL MEC "take care" of our furloughed pilots gives great reason for concern with what they might agree to next... another LOA 25??? Hope they prove me wrong.
Thanks again for your time spent looking up information, and the encouraging words. This will be instrumental for all of us going forward.
All the best,
SP
