WOW!
If true.. how can there not be a grievance filed?!
Will be interesting to see if this "rumor" holds true.
Did you question this union dolt about the legalities about doing that? Not an attack question, just wondering.

If a LUAL Vol Fur is senior to me on "The List" (which I expect...) and they are currently flying 756 EWR FO.. (where they are currently junior to me), how long would/will it take to do what this ''union dolt'' said?!

Not that I want to see this hypothetical guy be able to bid better than me.. but once we have a list, and he is senior.. how does he not utilize his seniority and bidding power?!

All this is rumor and the union "dolt" sounds like an idiot. But then again LOA25 was UFB in that it carved out a group of pilots that should have been made whole.

I want my money, vacation, and sick time....and my EARNED longevity....if not ....SEE YA ALPA!

You fellows/ladies that are expecting any and all discrepancies that manifest with the publication of your ISL to be instantly addressed are kidding yourselves. It is not abnormal that the company would be allowed to balance things out short of a "systemwide flush." A reasonable time frame to let normal operations put people where they should be is not unheard of. It is exactly the same scenario as when "conditions and restrictions" expire. Normal operations smooth the rough edges. Don't expect an immediate correction. The arbitrator will NOT expect operations to come to a halt as the award is put into effect. To expect otherwise is setting yourself up for disappointment.

And, you jerks that can't be bothered to do any Union work don't have the credentials to call those that are contributing "union dolts". Look in the mirror if you want to see a dolt. I am sooooo glad to be retired so I don't have to put up with the constant complaining from the people who contribute nothing anymore.

Old joke.... What's the difference between a jet engine and an airline pilot? Answer: The engine stops whining when you get to the gate.

I bet jet engines quit whining when they retire

I don't know your deal, but please explain how it could be considered onerous for the company to reorder a BES list IAW the ISL. No training - no transfer - no balancing - just an internal reordering of the BES list.

It was a time crunched conversation so didn't get too deep into legalities. I agree with calling it a rumor, but I think the UAL furloughs should be asking hard questions now. Essentially it was made out to sound like there would be a 1-2 month adjustment process based on the availability of the new bid.

Given the incompetency of man power planning, I lack faith in that plan. Obviously little can be done about Sept, but I consider it completely unacceptable to not allow the ISL to determine October bidding. And yes in my BES there are a significant number of vol UAL furloughs in my base that will go in front of me. I believe in doing what's right.

No need for flushes and adjustments for a UAL vol furloghee that is fully qualified on my equipment and already in my base. He/she will be senior to me thus he/she should bid senior to me as soon as the list is in effect. And thanks for the age old tirade concluded with a punch line that's been around since The Comet appeared.

Just asking.
Don't the furloughed guys at L-Cal have to be officially recalled to the new UAL before they can excersise their new seniority?

Thanks for the expanded explanation.
And I agree 100%
