If the aircraft type is in the "Ratings" portion of your airman certificate then it's a Type Rating.
The "Limitations" determine your privileges and therefore what you can log and claim.
Yeah, it's just the FAA complying to ICAO shenanigans, but as far as airlineapps is concerned, if it's 121 then yes the aircraft requires a type rating, and yes you are type rated in the aircraft if it appears on the back of your certificate.
