Thanks Fullflank. Apparently, you are about the only one that understands this issue. Under 14CFR Part 121, you
can't log PIC unless, as Full Flank states, you have completed all of the above
AND have signed the flight release as PIC along
with the Dispatcher. Period. Paragraph, Q.E.D. End of discussion.
Now, if you want to sit in the back of a 747-400 on a deadhead and log PIC, or log a few lunar landings, go for it. Just don't present yourself for an interview at a major and think you won't get laughed out of the room.
