There are still by far more pilots in the market than jobs available, and the big name flight schools are still pumping out a never ending stream of 191 - 250 hour pilots ready to assume the limited regional-airline slots that will open up in the next few years. I don't see any shortage approaching on the horizon. It's all a bunch of lies and misinformation divulged by the airlines and flight schools who want to make it certain that they can keep on paying peanuts to workers.
Well... Most of the flight schools I know of have slowed way down. I don't think there will ever be a real pilot shortage because of the likelihood of another recession or the outbreak of major conflict in the Middle East. Those are more realistic than saying there are still a ton of 200 hour wonders being pumped out of these pilot mills.
