I wasn't saying the arbs chose the CAL method I was simply comparing the two to help define the term. The definition of relative seniority is your seniority relative to your coworkers, your seniority number, not the date you were hired. Although prior to the ISL the DOH and seniority may have been the same, post isl it is not. My point was that the United FOM in fact states that relative seniority dictates the Jumpseat when there are two pilots in the same class. If it were to change to DOH, it would be United changing it and not CAL trying to force a change. That's all
