Add Auto throttles and VNAV into the mix and it takes a lot of pilot work out of it. Flying an arrival with speeds is as simple as setting the lowest altitude and watching it fly all the altitudes and speeds.
It flies like a big bus. Just not as sports car like as the CRJ. But to each their own.
