Good point, and I agree. In fact I would go so far as to say that were the US/AWA integration to take place now, it would look different than the Nic...but not by a lot...probably not enough to make any difference as to whether the DOH-obsessed USAPA came into existence...not by a long shot would it have gone straight DOH...longevity was the modification, and even that only got a 35% weighting with the UAL/CAL award. That still doesn't invalidate the Nic...I can't imagine that it won't be used as the official, probably court-ordered list from USAir when negotiations (otherwise known as pre-arbitration formalities) start with the APA. USAir east has hired several hundred pilots in the last 6 years of this USAPA fiasco if I'm not mistaken...so their bottom guys on the Nic are no longer on the bottom...I would think the Nic melded fairly into AA's list would not change their prospects that much. They would be "lost in the shuffle" so to speak.

What the US guys need to do though, is stop salivating about what their DOH can hold at other airlines...your DOH does not entitle you to other people's jobs, simply put. You could have been flying with ole' Orville and Wilbur but that don't mean sh!t...it is the seniority you have within your own company, and what your company brings to the merger that counts. Good luck to all you guys though...it will be interesting to see how this mess works out...
