Not to add fuel to the fire but having just been hired in Aug., I've never been treated so poorly upon introducing myself to the capt. on a west jet. I was commuting and didn't get a hand shake and was told right away my hand wasn't worth shaking. I had to find out the nitty gritty details from another employee as to why someone with so much time here couldn't take one look at me and figure out I'm not nearly old enough to have been here very long. On top of the matter after he realized I was a so called "third lister" still was not apologetic nor shook my hand. Extremely juvenile and actually feel sorry for someone who needs to come to work with that attitude.

I suppose this thread helps us understand why airlines require college degrees today.
It is always interesting to see how people without higher education or purpose in life cannot express themselves well.

Low class... Nothing else to call it. Please refrain from such vulgar language here, take it to the USAviation forum (Owned by a US Air pilot)- there is a reason nobody goes there except for USAir pilots. At least leave this one clean.

Now Puros, I called one of our guys on that. I'm sure you will want to do the same and call WD and cacti for their years long litany of "scab, thief, scumbag, easthole........." Right?

You know I totally agree that "cocksucker" is vulgar and I am embarrassed that another pilot used the word on a public forum. I am equally embarrassed by the "easthole" (apparently any orifice or appendage will do) response along with a litany of words used, in particular, by WD and less often, one of the Cacti on a regular basis. To be fair, there are most likely many others that I just don't happen to read. More importantly, where was your outrage for any of the totally unprofessional, crude comments about FA's. First of all, be consistent. Second of all, I would like to remind folks that many of us come from aviation families with mothers, fathers, sisters, daughters and sons who are FA's as well as pilots. Really, is it necessary to act like a cliché, particularly at a time when there is so much negative publicity about the sexual assaults of women in the military. As offensive as words are, they only amount to name calling. These misogynistic comments are much more disrespectful and emphasize the effects of privilege on a predominately white male profession. If we expect to be treated with the respect that we deserve we should not tolerate this type of behavior in a public forum. Do not think for one moment that this blog is read only by pilots. Finally, whoever "owns" this site does not seem to mind if this East/West thing litters up every thread on this blog. I do realize that we all are free to leave anytime but some of us would rather never bring this up at work (even think that it is inappropriate to discuss at work) and furthermore would like to be able to get info without any of this trash talk.
