Default USAPA $40 mil signing bonus

Anybody else read the recommendation for how it should be distributed? Looks like USAPA doesn't want any probationary pilots getting a piece of the pie.

I read it and found the recommendation to be very fair.
Having to be an "active" USAPA member on the date of signing makes perfect sense.
So, no. Probationary pilots are not active union members with voting rights.

But we will have to spend our careers working for the merged airline. I guess an extra 5 years at the top of the scale wasn't enough. Now you need to screw us out of this too.

for those of us not in the loop, how are they recommending to divide it up?

The logic is that the 40 mil signing bonus was offered by management to encourage USAPA member pilots to vote for the contract. Pilots who voted for the agreement get it...

Supposedly first year pay is going to be addressed in JCBA.

I'm truly glad 1st year will be fixed, but we'll all be on 2nd year pay by then so it won't really matter. Just doesn't really make you feel like much of a "union", when everybody is out for themselves. I wasn't expecting an equal piece of the pie, but a slice would have been nice. The sooner USAPA's gone the better for all.
