If you are trying to move it to the right (from Apr 30 to May 5th) I'm not sure why it won't let you. Its only 2 days of vacation (12 hours), so you will only be able to expand it to knock out 18 hours (and be 6 in the hole) which would only give you 3 R days off. (3 X 4:33 = 13:39. 4X4:33 = 18:12.) You can't expand to knock out the carryin, but you can slide it backwards to knock out 3 of the days of carry in, which days are you trying to knock out?
