Step one is to understand that it is a fact. It has been demonstrated over and over again as Delta management has obstructed any DPA effort to the maximum extent allowed to them by law.

Now, why does DPA displease Anderson? Because in Lee Moak's ALPA, he has found a "new style" union. Translated into English, that means saving money on communications by using the union to communicate company points of view, and negotiating on the same side of the table. The thought of actually having an opponent on the other side of the bargaining table is a clear cost increase to management...and therein lies Richard's opposition to anything other than ALPA.
