F10,
I recommend that you update any LOR that is over a year old. The interviewers and board like currency. An LOR that is older will bring scrutiny on the applicant. Example, why would the candidate not have their friends update this? Does he/she take the interview seriously? Is there issues with the applicant and their LOR and such. Fewer questions the better in my opinion.

As for company emails, I disagree with fitz. Treat the company email like any other corporate email account and email for work purposes only. It is a great way to separate business from personal life.
