UAL flight office in SFO in particular enjoys trying to create ways to discipline pilots. I say again, do not use UAL E-mail for anything! They snoop on a moments notice. If you really want to keep private and work stuff separate, just don't do UAL.
I guarantee the next contract they will be using all kinds of evidence from less than stellar co-workers in these E-mails. I've been here too long and know to not trust anyone in management. They have proven it time after time.

I have been a network administrator in my earlier days. Nowadays, privacy is taking seriously, and you are in control of your e-device, who has access and how you share your info. Therefore; if you are uncomfortable with usage of e devices how to use settings and how prevent anyone from tracking you, you should consult a professional or use sail mail. By accepting job with United and using our website, you are voluntarily agree to terms and conditions associated with access, I strongly suggest you read our policy and set your e-device to your privacy requirements.
For everyone else, do not be afraid to use United email, looks more professional to send LOR
[email protected] then google, yahoo, or hotmail, speaking of privacy, those domains I would stay away as far as you can and pay a bid for your own domain and mail server to assure total privacy.
You can always disable @united.com email when not needed.
