T, I don't hate my life, I like it. DAL is my employer and a darned great one.
Much of what we are yammering about will become moot with the impending pilot shortage, demise of all regionals and hiring and training footprint. Pilots will be a valuable commodity once again and all those US expats flying for emirates will be flocking home. Future contracts will be able to monetize all of this. To retain pilots, domestic airlines will have to guarantee careers and their earnings.
Academic exercise aside, this will all happen and relatively soon.
I agree wholeheartedly. Some just believe that an alternate group headed by the king of disgruntled former furloughees is the right way to leverage that inevitability. On that point, I wholeheartedly disagree. It is a dangerous, stupid and futile tack that will set us back rather than progressing that agenda. YMMV, and I know it does, so you are right that the exercise is academic. I am just not interested in change for the sake of change, and then hope, which is all Caplinger is offering.
