In other words, dALPA cannot AFFORD to ignore the insurgency so they have to spend time, money and resources fighting it off. It will be interesting to see how the dee pee ay acts when they find that everybody isn't singing Kumbaya for all of their decisions, and the next union to end all unions starts it's drive. Better save a little on each paycheck for your assessment to fight it off.
This whole thing is about how they are supposed to "go about business." If they had been "going about business" in an appropriate way, we wouldn't even be talking about DPA today. DPA wouldn't exist.
This latest emphasis by ALPA on addressing DPA doesn't change the way they've been representing (or not representing, depending on your point of view) the Delta pilots one iota. What DPA is all about is changing our focus away from this idea that bankruptcy was a reset and that we have to be "reasonable" in restoring the unreasonable hits we've taken. (Gonna have to explain to me how it's mathematically possible to restore unreasonable cuts with "reasonable" increases within a time frame that helps the vast majority of current Delta pilots.)
