I am definitely against it for numerous reasons, one being that the armed persons are not likely to be seasoned, experienced, law enforcement professionals; and even they screw up with disturbing frequency. Leave the armed protection business to the Pros. In general, I feel much safer when I am packing or real law enforcement is present. We are never going to prevent the types of incidents such as the one at LAX last week; minimizing the potential damage likely, but preventing no... And yes, I am a gun owner.
