Excellent. Now we're getting somewhere. At least you realize that your previous post touting the importance of someone's salary being based on their ability to live within their means was just goofy. Now that you've rejected your previous attempt at rational thought, lets go to the next step:

If Richard was hired at a certain pay level because of his skill and education, and then 50% of his pay was taken against his will in bankruptcy, would he not have the right to fight for pay restoration while he still worked here? Would he only be allowed your "small steps? Would you advise him to shut up and live within his means?
