I never said ALL of them should have weapons, but as my earlier post stated I have NO problem with those with military/LEO background being armed after stringent background checks/training.
I have no problem with those particular folks having weapons, I just don't want to pay for it. Federal cops are very expensive.
Now if they want to do it FFDO style, where it's non-paid I'd be OK with a little taxpayers support for that. Doubt the government employee unions would go for it though.
But there's also the issue of an armed guy being distracted while stacking tubs or whatever and losing control of his weapon. Are we going to have pay for even MORE people to stand around and do even less work than regular smurfs?
