from United Hub, Posted Apr 29, 2013 at 4:00 PM:

"Under an agreement with Embraer, we’ll purchase 30 Embraer 175 regional jets, with deliveries in 2014 and 2015. These aircraft will be operated by a United Express partner to be announced later."

------

understand that "purchase" has numerous meanings, but standard reading of the UAL posting is aircraft will be purchased and owned by UAL, operated by a United Express partner
