3 things affect g-tolerance, at least in my viper career this is what i have noticed.
1. Are you hydrated?
2. Did you get enough sleep prior to that 0600 mass brief or were you up late boning the wife...or better yet, the mistress?
3. Did you start the strain prior to the break turn...or 2 seconds into it once the gray starts to set in? LOL. c'mon gents, don't lie and say the former.

While your 3 subpoints are all valid and important, the physical distance between your heart and brain have a direct relationship to effort required to stay awake. The greater this distance, the more pressure you have to generate to keep from suffering a G-LOC. Lots of tall guys can do it, but they have to work harder than those who have a shorter distance between the eyes/brain and heart.
