That would be great, if it were true. 20 more CRJ 9 for Airways, I heard it would only be 10. Emb 175's will trickle in. 2 in Aug. 14', 2 more in Oct 14' and so on. 6 total for 2014. I can hold Capt. IAD now but I am holding out for an Emb/IAH base and I'm not the only one. Being one of the more senior FO's I calculated I will not hold the Emb 175 capt till 2015. And I figure IOE captains will be on the Emb 175 all of next year because many of the new hire FO's will need 50-100 hours of IOE. There are also a lot of senior FO's holding out for either a line or their base on the CRJ. With the numbers 26 airplanes, (20 CRJ not 10) for the end of 2014. 26x5=130 new captains. Holding captain statewide, (Hawaii doesn't count) is getting close to the 400 seniority number. Remember some of us holding-out, that can hold it now. Let's just -30 on that. So 370+130=500. Remember attrition gets worse as your seniority moves down. (I dropped 8 numbers all of this last year) I would say at least 250 captains will not move on. They will retire here, and that number could go up.(people get comfortable[no commute/good schedules]or money/family gets in the way) So by the end of 2014 you will have to be around the 500 seniority number to hold captain, IF? we get more CRJ 9 for Airways.
2 175's a month starting in June. 20 900's this spring.
Most junior mainline capt is high 400's I'm low 600s.
I think your math is a little off.
Time will tell.
But more importantly.. What is your bench at these days?
