How about jumpseat on a US carrier to a major continent hub and then train/zed to ATH? That should save you a few nickels. Rumor has it that a zed pass and a crew id will possibly get you on a FA or pilot jumpseat within EU. This time of year, seams that loads would be good for a trip like this.
