A little. He has experience with the SPC, which might come in handy. I think he was Chairman for DAL and National. I'm not personally aware of his other past union functions, but I've met him couple times during BK. He seems to be trade unionist, and have his heart in the right place. I like the guy. Smart, and assertive. I think he's from Chicago, and I'd enjoy being in the room if Carl wanted to start a cliche rant on Chicago-style politics with him.
Chicago style thug politics is no rant Sink r8. It is what it is. It's tough, dirty street-fight style politics. My only objection to its use among DALPA is that to date, it's only used against our own members who dare step out of line. If we use it as required against management when necessary, then let's see how that works. When it's used exclusively against fellow pilots, then I have a problem with it.
