It was to less that 50 airframes, management just ordered almost twice that amount 76 seaters with many more options and they already have RAH set to operate 47 of them.
Hey I get it, 76 seat fleets are expanding, 50 seat fleets are contracting. Not necessarily a good thing, but is it the wholesale decimation of the domestic mainline fleet like some on here are suggesting? I don't think so.
Hopefully as more and more regional pilots start entering mainline positions as these agreements come again for renegoiation there will be louder and louder voices preventing a further erosion of scope, and dare I say even taking some of it back. Any continued shortage of quality applicants at the regional level is just going to help that.
