Thats why why I want this path. I'm sick of working hard and want to relax. since this industry is so backwards now it tough to approach it as a high paying career. Getting on with UAL with 18 days off flying a 777 is a lottery ticket now. I just want to bid reserve and live in base and fly as many out and backs and sleep in my own bed. If I have to give up a lot of pay to increase my quality of life at least i'll die happy. Don't get me wrong I expect to get abuse but my goal is to find the line each month that keeps me at home the most. I don't see this as a career anymore because your employers don't care about you and abuse you. I just look at it as a easy nontraditional job. Ask all the 10 year regional pilots where they thought they would be today 10 years ago today. This is by far a career that I would recommend. I'm just lucky I have all my time from a decade ago to fall back on. Now if this shortage does play out(will see) then it might be a good time to jump in. this is why I'm ready to take another swing today. But I can tell you this, the ball is in the pilots court, and all new hires can't let the scare tatics of a company scare you into concessions. This has done nothing but turn this industry into a playground for the rich kids. I guess all i need is a backpack, some hair gel, and head phones because thats what my peers tell me what its like on line now.
