L'il J, You've inspired me to do a little more research before I start “confessing” on my applications. I'm still cautious about giving the airlines the entire story. I get that you are not saying to lie, but that I have nothing to lie about... It's just such a change from what I (until now) believed to be true. I plan on scheduling an appointment with the JAG to clarify all this.
I can't think of a worse situation than if I got picked up a major and then lost my position because of what they perceive to be lying or covering up.
