I'm new to the forums , long time airline employee but currently working on getting my ratings.

I've always wondered how the pay scales work, but been lurking here for many years ,figured is time to ask.

When does year one start? 12 months after starting or 24 months after starting ? Meaning two years already worked.

Also when you upgrade to captain do you reset over to year one or you keep the amount of years that you been a first officer , as in , I've been an FO for 4 years , now I start at captain pay year 4 scale or year 1?

Just looking for some clear answers on this.
