These are WAGs- 70-80% of the people who interview make it to Phase II. 90%+ of the Phase II people get hired and successfully make it to being a line pilot.

They indeed try to bring people to the interview who meet their quals and the company has every intention of hiring them. The interview is relaxed and primarily to get to understand the personality of the candidate and see if they would be a good fit in that regard.

400 is looking to be a conservative target for 2014 newhires
