After much thought and research I would say that our MEC is picking up one of the new CRJ's coming online. It's a possibility that SAS will be getting new CRJ 1000's for a good deal from Bombardier to trade out their CRJ 900's. Nothing has been announced but rumors overseas are making the news. Bombardier just had a few airlines that went bankrupt back out on 18 total orders and have no buyers. A better bet would be Air Estonia, they code share for SAS and provide a lot of feed for SAS at their hubs. Air Estonia is already operating the CRJ 1000's and has several CRJ 900's that they could trade out for a good deal. Oslo, Norway is the furthest west hub for both airlines and the CRJ 900 would have the range to make it to Reykjavik, Iceland with strong headwinds. Usually the training department folks do this but with all the training going on I'm sure they're busy. Only management and ALPA folks can get away to do this flight. It would be my bet.
