You guys became a "leader" on the backs of the IPA and UPS pilots. We'd all be making about 15% more if your negotiators hadn't undercut us so badly too. Keep in mind that a FedEx 757 pilots gets paid about $25,000 per year less than a UPS pilot doing the exact same job!
You guys need to step the heck up. Your widebody pay rates aren't any more than ours at UPS, but you have a significant portion of your pilots making much less.
I think you need to worry about your own group, take a look at your Union's goals in the current CBA talks and you will find that when compared to Purple you are in fact trying to achieve MANY of the rules and benefits that we already have.
Pay rates are only part of the story my friend. We appreciate the work each side does in raising or maintaining the bar but your spewing of this crap that FDX undercut you is pure BS. IPA is a strong group, so had there been higher rates in play I am sure you guys would have stuck to your goals and taken them, no matter what Purple did, right? Or are you only as weak as your Purple neighbor? Good to know that we could work a deal to lower our rates and force you into a pay cut, even if our lower rates really paid more in the w2...(in theory)
