SWA uses row 44, a satellite based service. If you read up on the rollout at SWA, it makes ours look like a perfect operation. Southwest was forced to apologize to customers for the first 18 months of operation as the system had huge reliability problems and very slow speeds. Now two years later they are up around 98% and starting to hit their stride.
Not defending Panasonic, just saying the grass isn't always greener. Satellite internet is an emerging technology and will have growing pains.
