But that's because you don't really have a union. The RLA prevents the union from actually doing what unions do, so the "union" spins it's wheels and does all kinds of crazy stuff, while being constantly pulled in the directions of mainline and regional airlines. It's confused and simply has nowhere to go. It's like having an army and a law that you will never go to war. Back in the early industrial age when people first banded together to stand up against oppressive work rules and hours, do you think they cared about going to jail? Until pilots care enough to actually stand up for their work rules and wages, little will change. Wanting a "union" to somehow pull a rabbit of it's rear end in spite of the RLA is wishful thinking, but it's a lot easier than actually doing something...
