No offence to the new guys starting out, but why should someone with thousands of hours and years of experience be paid the same as someone just starting out at his first regional gig?
This is the kind of idea I would expect a union to present so they can justify taking 2% of my paycheck. Wishful thinking I guess.
The reason would be solidarity, and you just can't have every single pilot paid differently. When it comes to contract negotiations, TA and finally ratification, you really need solidarity. Having pilots paid differently based on hours etc would certainly divide and conquer the group.
A better solution may be centered around all pilots finally sticking together to end this low starting and slow progression pay.
