I left a regional in 2011. I left for the same reasons, pay and QOL. I looked at what my life would likely be 10 years down the road and didn't like what I saw.
I fly a cj part 91 for some business owners. I go to great destinations and actually get to enjoy them. All of my trip expenses are paid. My pay is 60% higher than if I was still an FO at my regional.
It's not all roses, but I feel much more job satisfaction and my employers appreciate my efforts.
Im fairly confident I wouldn't work for a regional again.
