Maybe it's a thread of unprofessionalism, that may some day start the whole sweater to unravel; but when I find a controller to be particularly annoying, obviously in training, or extra pedestrian, I often revert to less than standard phraseology. Especially when it's late in the duty period and the long awaited hand off (last transmission) comes.
"Goodnight!"
Too late in my career for domestic CPDLC to save me, but even if just to eliminate frequency hand offs from the chatter, it will be better.
Does anyone else find it causes tension when one controller works multiple sectors and you can only hear about every third plane respond? It feels like all those unanswered transmissions may have been for you.
I would read nothing into the transmission transcripts from MH370 without hearing the tapes.
