Another easy one is cloud clearance. As a student pilot (and presumably now) did/do you bring a tape measure every flight to make sure you were clear by appropriates mins?
I do bring a tape measure but its not for the clouds...Its to reassure myself that I'm tryly the biggest man up there at 4,000 feet in my C-172!
