No, you simply don't get paid for the value of that trip. IOW, if you start the month with an 80 hour calendar and drop a 20 hour trip, you are only going to get paid 60 hours.

The mechanics of how you drop it vary by airline, but generally the trip goes into a pool of "open time," to be picked up by another Lineholder or assigned to a reserve.
