I'm not trying to connect dots that aren't there or be overly optimistic. However, this and his "somewhere-somehow-someday" comment about negotiations at the unnamed other airline(s) makes it seem like we're far from being out of the larger plan (if there is one at this time). They wouldn't be setting up pipeline programs with flight schools (add Tulsa Community College to the mix this week) if they don't have an ultimate goal for us.

Just my two cents.
He's just saying that in the hope it will minimize attrition. It's easy to make empty promises to dopey pilots because they usually believe them. When it cones to being gullible, no one excels like airline pilots.
