If the company were smart they would see that opening an ALB base would deter new hires from coming here which goes against the pay increase that was just voted in. I think the company will see that we need to do whatever we can to attract and keep first officers. Opening Albany will Not do that!
I think that's a question you'd have to ask new hires, not guess at. For me, that would mean 70 miles less of a drive to their nearest current crew base - enough to make a difference. Of course, with their new commuter clause, I think it would mean less. I could always just show up the night before on the company dime.
