Plus remember, it's 1,500 hours PLUS the ATP. If you take a look at other threads here in the military forums, you'll see the discussions about all the drama surrounding the future of ATP requirements (getting significantly more stringent and pain-in-the-butt), and how guys/gals are using the GI Bill to foot the bill. Recommend you spend some quality time in these threads digging.

However......., do yourself a favor and don't read too many of the posts in APC forums (i.e. threads in the regionals section) - you will get down on life and never want to be an airline pilot. This place seems to be the home for every whiner/complainer/bad attitude dude on the planet. If you only read things here you'll wonder what you're getting yourself into...
