Are we not always taught to have a back up plan if the first one fails? I have not seen or heard allot from ALPA on this just about NAI & the FFDO. If ALPA wins on both of these issues what does that do for the regional pilot? Yay I can carry a gun that I cannot afford to buy bullets for or YAY some SR Major CA gets a extra 10hrs of OT......Two programs that have absolutely nothing to do with my pay it might affect some CAPT at a major or some dude that feels like he has to carry a gun to feel like he can save the world. But for me & the vast majority of the other pilots "it's about the pay Stupid!"
The silence is deafening. I am not anti union or anything just wondering how long is this going to go on? Not really seeing what my dues are going towards
Wish people would understand the concept of "Unions". Organized labor groups are made up of employees, a few people that listen to those employees and attempt to bargain with management. In other words, the carriage does not drive the horse. The reps can pass along the message all you as the employee want. But when it falls on deaf ears (which is pretty much what is happening at the moment) alternative methods of getting the point across must be used.
Put yourself in the shoes of management. You have a bunch of whiny pilots chest thumping and running around getting each other fired up. All they do is complain. And that's ALL they do. The show up to work every day and do their job PERFECTLY. In the eyes of management, there is no problem.
So when you ask your Union Reps to pass along the message and expect something to come of it, remember until management has a reason to bargain nothing will change.
We as the "Union" must make a move ourselves. Until then enjoy the excess complaining.
