Why doesn't the union(senior pilots) negotiate lower wages for the new ELT pilots and give themselves raises. If the new hires have SJS it seems like they would learn a hard lesson about biting dirty carrots. It also might not make the job that attractive at slave wages for 3-5 years. They might get to go to Delta but they won't be able to do it at other pilots expense. Just curious why short timers should be rewarded. I never felt entitled to anything as a junior pilot for any airlne I've ever worked for.
Because the contract isn't amendable for another 5+ years and why would the company ever agree to it? As often as they've put a bullet in their own leg, they aren't likely THAT stupid. The key is everyone reach out as an alumni and make sure to let the students know that the "neat CRJ" that they just saw as a marketing ploy to get them to work here just headed to Kingman, AZ to be permanently retired from the fleet.... 11 less pilots needed at this company every flight.
