Anyone who thinks that ANYONE currently at a regional airline will still be there in 6 years (that doesn't want to be), let alone 10 for crying out loud, is letting their emotions get the best of them.

Numbers don't lie. Unless the economy absolutely tanks the regional feed (pilots) will be absorbed into the majors as the retirements ramp up. I'd be willing to bet that the regionals will be reduced and consolidated and the majors will start taking back scope to a certain degree. There just aren't enough pilots to keep the regionals staffed as the majors have to keep their operation going.

Just my .02

Do you actually get to park the plane in its final resting place? Off the taxiway, into the dirt, hauling a$$ around the corner kicking up dust, engines off, dun. Is that how it goes?

No, thanks to a combination of ALPA/Bloch's ingenious seniority merger and the extreme incompetence of multiple senior management teams, I'm just along for the ride on the ground. But indeed the "marketing stops" at the pilot mills have been with planes that only have made one more flight, to Kingman, for retirement. Of course they don't bother to tell the attendees that.

Wrong.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

Every mainline carrier would love to have as many regional pilots as possible, while having as few mainline pilots as possible.
