FWIW I flew from ANC to DFW a few weeks ago on an AA 757 and it was a miserable 6 hour flight. Window seat, row 20-something. Narrow seat, knees almost touched the seat-back in front of me. It's all how a particular airline configures the seats. Alaska 737 had a wider aisle, wider seat, and plenty of leg room. They did have a bulkhead w/ a door that separated the classes I guess, thought that a little weird.
Alaska used to (and maybe still does) operate combi airplanes. That door may been there to seperate the cargo from the pax but has since been converted to all pax.
